Nawaz Sharif to remain PM: NA speaker

LAHORE: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Nawaz Sharif will remain the prime minister as there is no alternative candidate in the National Assembly.

Talking to the media on Saturday regarding the Panama case, he said that let it be known that the opponents do not have any evidence in the case. He said the Panama reference had also been filed before him and there was nothing interesting that could be found in it. Ayaz Sadiq said all political parties were on the same page on the issue of Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav.

Talking about the Indian spy’s death sentence, he said no leniency would be shown to Yadav. The Speaker said Lt Col (retd) Mohammad Habib was abducted from Nepal under proper planning.

The speaker admitted that there was loadshedding these days, however, he said the the duration was not 16 hours. The cause of recent loadshedding is weather as everything is not in government’s hands, he said and added that there was a significant decrease in loadshedding and  improvement would be witnessed in the coming days.

He said he would visit Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani’s home on Monday. He said his first priority would be that Raza Rabbani did not tender his resignation.
