Experiential learning events organised by IoBM students

KARACHI: IoBM students on Thursday organized a couple of experiential learning events from industry to branding. One event was an open house poster presentation on “Industry Analysis of Pakistan” organised by the IoBM Economics department, while the other was mega event “Brand Mania” organized by the IoBM Marketing department.

In the event, “Industry Analysis of Pakistan” the students presented their projects in the form of detailed poster presentations. Mr Talib Karim, Rector and Executive Director Corporate Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Management Excellence Center, IoBM, appreciated the Economics department. The students used their knowledge and learning to develop these posters to highlight the current economic issues faced by various industries of Pakistan.

Dr Shahida Wizarat, Dean CESD, HoD Economics Department, Director Research and Chief Editor, PBR, explained that after the Partition, Pakistan imported goods from India, while there was a need to develop indigenous industrial sector. She recommended Pakistan’s government to develop such industries to strengthen the national economy.

Meanwhile, a mega event “Brand Mania” was organized by members of the IoBM Marketing Society, which included branding competitions comprising 20 teams of four to five members each. The teams developed print/TV ads before presenting them along with marketing, promotional and branding strategies.

In the event, Mr Sohail Zindani, IoBM alumnus and a renowned corporate trainer, founder and CEO of The Sohail Zindani Company, elucidated upon the importance of focusing on our strengths to ensure personal and professional development, while Mr Alamgir, social and community activist and founder of the Fixit campaign, explained the importance of civic and community development and urged the youth to emulate the Fixit example at the community and the national level.
