PML-N (UK Women's Wing) has praised Maryam Nawaz Sharif for giving invaluable support to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in helping him formulate policies and strategies.

Ms Fozeen Gull, Chairperson of PML-N (UK Women's Wing), said this while addressing a gathering of women workers at an event arranged to appreciate the contribution of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Four women-only events were held in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bradford which were attended by a large number of female workers of PML-N. The objective of these evens was to oragnise and activate female supporters of PMLN for campaigning and community activism.

Ms Fozeen Gull said that Maryam Nawaz has been a victim of malicious propaganda unleashed by opponents of democracy and PM Sharif but she has stood steadfast and emerged stronger and more resolute. She said that organised campaigns have been run against her to target Nawaz Sharif but masses are fully aware of her contribution to Pakistan therefore they respect her for the difference she had made.

Ms Fozeen Gull said that Maryam Nawaz has played a central role in almost all schemes – including education and health projects and gender and minority issues – that are now benefiting large sections of the society. She said that against the “avalanche of lies and misinformation, Maryam Nawaz helped steer the media message of PML-N positively, encountering negativity and showing reality to the people of Pakistan”.

Fozeen Gull told the audience that Maryam Nawaz deserves applause for recently organising a conference for women leaders in Islamabad.

At the events numerous Speakers commented on her skills and abilities to lead her party and nation in the future. She said the strategy by her enemies to use Panama papers to malign her has actually backfired and further honed her skills in public politics to plan and rebut the misinformation and propaganda being peddled by “the desperate lot who are using cheap tactics”.

Ms Fozeen Gull said that thousands of Pakistani women overseas were ready to support Maryam Nawaz and her future plans.
