93 patrol officers pass police probationer course

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will open new gateways to success and prosperity, said Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Shaukat Hayat. 

It is easier to attain a standard but very difficult to maintain it, he said while addressing the passing-out parade of 6th Probationer Course consisting of 93 patrol officers at NH&MP Police Training College, Sheikhupura. In 6th Police Probationer Course, Lady Patrol Officer Shumaila Aslam got first position in academics while in firing Patrol Officer Shahzaman, in discipline Patrol Officers Tariq Ali and Amina Khan and in parade Patrol Officer Muhammad Javeid stood first. 

DIG Central Zone Mirza Faran Baig, DIG Motorway Imtiaz Shah, DIG North Abbas Ahsen and police officer and officials were also present on the occasion.

Shaukat Hayat said Motorway Police has got distinction because of its professional performance of duties and Training College, Sheikhupura has played a central role in this achievement. Many other departments like Islamabad Police, Peshawar Traffic Police, Ring Road Police, and traffic wardens etc. have got their training from NH&MP Training College, Sheikhupura.

Congratulating passed out officers, the IG expressed hope that when these well-trained officers will come in practical field, they will raise the standards of traffic discipline and make the roads safer than before. He applauded the efforts of Commandant Training College, DIG Khalid Mehmood and its staff for current progress in college and aligning the training on modern lines.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commandant Training College, DIG Khalid Mehmood said he has tried his best to raise the standards of training by adopting various latest methods. He said their institution is trying its best to inculcate in the minds of all trainees the basic traits of honesty, courtesy and help. Besides providing quality manpower, we are also playing a central role in road safety awareness, said the DIG. At the end, Shaukat Hayat and Commandant Training College laid floral wreath at monument of martyrs and prayed for them.

accidents: At least 748 road accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 from all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Fifteen people were killed and 663 badly injured in the road accidents. The injured were shifted to hospitals.
