Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast light rainfall and overcast today (Thursday) in the federal capital promising a respite from the rising temperatures, especially in the daytime.
These days, the sun is shinning brightly in clear skies increasing the daytime temperatures and thus, prompting the people to pack away woollies and use summer clothes. According to PMD forecasting officer Ghulam Murtaza, the rain will be caused by a shallow westerly wave.
“During the next 24 hours, mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while hot weather is expected in Sindh and south Punjab. However, light rain coupled with thunderstorm is expected at isolated places of Islamabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions, Fata, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan,” he said. The weatherman said there was a likelihood of similar weather conditions, including cloudiness, prevailing the next day, too.
