Telenor partners with PLDDB

KARACHI: Telenor Pakistan has joined forces with the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board (PLDDB) to enhance women participation in agriculture and farming sector, a statement said on Wednesday.

The collaboration will promote awareness on nutrition, dairy, livestock, agriculture and livelihood-related issues through Telenor Pakistan’s communication platform in Punjab, it added.

Under the agreement, Telenor Pakistan will launch a dedicated IVR helpline on its mobile agriculture service Khushaal Zamindar for women farmers to sensitise them about making smart choices in order to maximise their revenues from agriculture and farming, the statement said.

German official visits FPCCI

KARACHI: Carsten Muller, head of mission of the German Consulate, visited the Federation House Karachi on Wednesday, a statement said. Alamgir Firoz, chairman of the Standing Committee on Diplomatic Affairs, along with Gulzar Firoz, chairman of the Standing Committee on Environment, and members of Pakistan-Germany Business Council of the FPCCI, welcomed the head of the mission, it added.  Firoz said that Germany is Pakistan’s largest trading partner among the EU countries. Pakistan’s exports to Germany included textile and textile made-ups, leather goods, carpets, surgical instruments, cutlery, rice and horticulture products, while Pakistan imported machinery, pharmaceuticals, motor vehicles, chemicals and dyes, iron and steel products.

Al-Ameen Islamic plan launched

KARACHI: UBL Fund Managers Limited (UBL Funds) announced the launch of the Al-Ameen Islamic Active Allocation Plan–VIII, under the Al-Ameen Islamic Financial Planning Fund-II. This plan is now open for subscription, a statement said on Wednesday.

The investment policy of Al-Ameen Islamic Active Allocation Plan-VIII (AIActAP-VIII) is approved by Shariah advisers Mufti Muhammad Hassaan Kaleem and Mufti Muhammad Najeeb Khan.
