Muhammad Bakash, 90, is a farrier by profession but also is talented enough to sing in the voices of top singers and play music with matchbox only.

Muhammad Bakash has been shoeing horses, as a farrier for past 30 years. His work has dwindled a great deal due to reduction in demand of horse shoes because ‘tongas’, old mean of transportation are lesser in demand due to speedier mode of transportations. However, all these odds have not broken the heart of this 90-year-old man, who not only likes his work by heart, but also enjoys singing.

Muhammad Bakash, is God gifted and he can sing in voices of singing greats like Mehdi Hassan, Muhammad Rafi and many others but the plus point is he does not to supplement his voice with high grade musical instruments but he needs only a matchbox to attract listeners.

While talking to ‘The News’ Muhammad Bakash said that people appreciate him a lot after listening to him in voice of top singers coupled with making music with a matchbox. “Many times people come to me just for listening to my songs in my shop at Bagh Sardaran, Rawalpindi in the evening.

He said, his talent is God gifted and he is singing for the last many years. He said he didn’t get a chance to show his talent on television screen. Muhammad Bakash said he is spending a good life, as his sons are also supporting him. “I only have a wish to perform ‘Haj’ and for this I am praying that any God fearing man will help me to fulfil my wish,” he added.
