Haqqani Network neither friend nor proxy: Aizaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States (US) Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said on Tuesday that Haqqani Network was neither Pakistan’s friend nor was a proxy.
He said that those playing with human lives could not be friends and Pakistan was against such elements or activities. He reiterated that Pakistan wanted peaceful relations with India and these should be based on mutual respect. "This is our message for India to promote relations with peaceful environment" in the region, he stated while talking to a private news channel. He was of the view whenever Pakistan and India wanted to do something in terms of relations, some terrorist activity halted the process, adding that terrorists’ got encouragement when India stopped the process.
