Health personnel training in Turkey

LAHORE

With a view to enhancing technical expertise and capacity building of health personnel of Punjab, a training programme regarding Emergency Health Services and Disaster Management is being conducted for second batch in the city of Izmir, Turkey. 

“This training programme will start from April 9,” Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SHC&ME) said while giving details regarding the collaboration between Ministry of Health Turkey and Punjab Health Department, according to a handout on Monday. In this connection, Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique along with five-member delegation will also visit Turkey next week to attend the opening ceremony of the Expo Medical Eurasia Fair. The minister will also visit to Yozgat City Hospital along with his delegation.

Certificates: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Prof Ghias un Nabi Tayyab has directed verification of educational certificates of those employees who have recently been recruited. 

“The process of verification of newly inducted staff’s diplomas, degrees and other documents must be verified from their educational boards and institutions concerned within one month span of time,” the Principal directed to MS LGH, Nursing administration and Additional Dean PGMI, according to a press release issued on Monday. He made it clear that those employees who would not cooperate with administration or use delaying tactics would face legal action.

He directed administrative doctors to monitor staff behavior with patients, their attendance and performance on regular basis. He warned that stern action would be initiated against those staff members who violate discipline or go on leave without advance approval.

custody: An additional district and sessions court Monday handed over a three-year-old girl to her mother after getting her recovered from the illegal custody of his father.

Shumaila Arif of Nishtar Colony filed a habeas corpus petition in the court contending that her husband Arif of Millat Park had illegally detained her three years old daughter Shaista.

The bailiff produced the girl before the court from where she was handed over to her mother.

WHO: The Punjab AIDS Control Programme and the World Health Organization will enhance technical collaboration regarding HIV/AIDS in Punjab. 

According to a press release issued on Monday, a WHO delegation comprising experts on STDs and infection control visited the PACP complex and met a team of the Punjab AIDS Control Programme led by Additional Secretary (Admin) Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, who is also Programme Director PACP on Monday.
