LAHORE: PML-Q President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain said on Saturday that no decision had been taken regarding electoral alliance with any party so far.
“We do meet all but every decision will be taken in consultation with the party leaders and in the interest of Pakistan and PML,” he said while talking to party leaders from different districts at his residence in Lahore.
The party leaders and active workers presented various suggestions to Ch Shujaat Hussain. Replying to a question about recent meetings with former President Asif Ali Zardari and alliance with PPP, Shujaat said, “So far no decision has been taken regarding an alliance with any party.”
“We keep meeting and holding talks with all like-minded parties. We had taken all decisions in the past in consultation with our party office-bearers, leaders and workers. In the future too, every decision will be taken in consultation with the party leaders,” he said.
He said: “Such decision would be taken which is in the interest of our workers and in accordance with the requirements of national circumstances. “We cannot ignore the interests of the country, the nation and our party in any manner.”
