Islamabad: A large number of people were seen at the Pak-China Friendship Centre on the second day of the three-day Jang-ABAD Expo 2017 on Saturday. At the stalls put up by the country’s major builders and developers, visitors learned about their previous, current and future projects, and sought guidance on the available house building and real estate investment options.

The developers and builders responded to their queries, offered them attractive packages to suit their needs and pockets, and even booked plots, houses and apartments.

Most visitors were the salaried people, who were interested in developing own houses using savings.

“Everyone thinks about having own house but generally lacks the right information to plan things well. Such expos effectively address this problem by bringing the country’s leading builders and developers under one roof,” Muhammad Ramazan, a government employee, told ‘The News’.

Another visitor, Shazia Zeeenat, a housewife, said she had shown up along with family to explore options for investment in real estate.

“We’ve some savings and want to invest them into the booming housing industry to reap higher profits. We’ve met the representatives of many housing firms and discovered so many investment options to opt for the best one. This expo is a welcome initiative, which should happen at regular intervals and across the country to the benefit of common man,” she said.

Some visitors stressed the need for low-cost housing schemes for low-income groups.

The participants appreciated the holding of the expo and said it, besides helping them market their products and services, also highlighted the nationwide real estate investment opportunities, the issues and challenges facing stakeholders, and ways and means to effectively address them.

Pledging to provide the people with high-quality yet affordable housing, they called for the holding of such events in future, too.

ABAD Chairman Mohsin Sheikhani said the most important aspect of the event was the launch of low-cost housing schemes in the country. He said the ABAD would register the poor segments of society and salaried people for the scheme under which they would be provided with a five-marla house at the price ranging from Rs 1.5 million to Rs 1.9 million.

The Jang Media Group organised the event in collaboration with the Association of Builders and Developers, which works for unifying and streamlining the private sector construction activities in the country with more than 800 companies as its members.

The expo will continue today (Sunday).
