588,672 domestic animals vaccinated

As many as 588,672 domestic animals have been vaccinated against parasites and worms in Rawalpindi District by the Livestock Department so far during the campaign launched on March 1. During this campaign 50 per cent large animals, 43.78 per cent small animals and 48.35 per cent poultry have been covered and the remaining animals will be covered by next month.
These views were expressed by Additional Director Livestock Rawalpindi Dr Arshad Asad in a departmental meeting. He said the teams of the Livestock Department are working diligently from March 1, and the staff and officers of the department have not even availed weekly-off on Sunday to make the drive a success.
He said 22,0947 large animals, 138,992 small animals and 236,699 poultry have been vaccinated against parasites and worms so far in the campaign of the Livestock Department. He said the campaign will provide economic security to the farmers and will also improve the yield of milk and meat that will boost income of farmers.
