Torture of Pakhtun students by IJT condemned
WANA: Chief organiser of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for Fata Dost Mohammad Mahsud has condemned the attack on peaceful activists of the Pakhtun Students Federation at the Punjab University.
Talking to reporters here, he said the Pakhtun students were celebrating a cultural day with the permission of the university administration when the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba (IJT) activists stormed their camp and tortured them. “The IJT has a long history of terrorising students and teachers at the Punjab University campus,” he said.
The PTI leader said that during Musharraf’s rule, the IJT activists had tortured Imran Khan and handed him over to the police to show its unflinching support to the dictator.He asked the chief minister Punjab to take action against the IJT activists and ensure security to the Pakhtun students in Punjab. He also demanded postponement of census in Fata till the return of all displaced tribesmen to their hometowns.
