Islamabad: Though Tuesday was a working day, the Quaid-i-Azam University was closed on account of the preparations under way in the capital city for the March 23 celebrations.
The university located on the city's outskirts will reopen on March 24.
Mostly, other educational institutions operating in the city remained open in the day and said they would keep their campuses closed on March 23 only as it was a public holiday.
In the day, tight security checks, mobile phone service suspension and road blockades were seen in the city from the morning to the afternoon for the March 23 military parade rehearsal, which happened in Shakarparian area. All these steps were made for security reasons, an official said.
