Provincial metropolis may witness isolated rain on Wednesday (today) as a new westerly system has entered the country and will likely to persist till Thursday. Met officials said the westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday morning. They predicted that cloudy weather conditions are likely to prevail in most upper and central parts of the country. They predicted that rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Islamabad, KP, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. On Tuesday, weather remained dry in the most parts of the country while light rain with thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Quetta, Rawalpindi divisions and KP. Rainfall was also recorded at Parachinar, Kalam, Dir, Bannu, Cherat and Peshawar. Tuesday’s lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Astore where mercury dropped down to 00°C while in Lahore, minimum lowest temperature raised up to 17.1°C.
