Another senior staff member of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) has been robbed in the city within the last four days.
The latest incident happened in Shah Faisal Colony
on Tuesday afternoon when APP’s Karachi Bureau Chief Pervez Aslam was deprived of Rs350,000 by bandits.
Aslam has lodged a complaint at Shah Faisal Police Station for the registration of an FIR. In the complaint, he stated that he was intercepted by two bandits on a motorcycle, who followed him in a street after he got a Rs350,000 cheque cashed at the branch of a private bank in the neibhourhood.
He stated that the culprits were in the bank when he withdrew cash and both could be seen on the CCTV camera recording.
In the application, Aslam also called for an inquiry because the bank staff ignored security protocols and did not check the suspicious persons sitting idle in the branch.
On Saturday, APP’s Washington correspondent Zahid Hameedi had been robbed of cash and passport in North Nazimabad.
