Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq says Pak-China relations are unparalleled in international relations.
“Based on shared geopolitical, economic, historical and strategic interest, the Pak-China relations have always stood the test of times,” he said while talking to the Chairman Foreign Relation Committee of China Wang Xiaochu who called on him here on Thursday.
Ambassador of China in Pakistan Sun Weidong, Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari and Convener Pak-China Friendship Group Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan were also present.
Sadiq reiterated that the historic Pak-China relations had entered a new phase of unprecedented cooperation. He termed this alliance of two friends highly imperative for responding to regional and global challenges.
Sadiq highlighted that Pakistan confidently counted on its ‘time-tested’ friend China at various multilateral forums and added that the two friends had shared perspective on regional issues.
Referring to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Speaker remarked that the joint initiative heralds a new age of prosperity for Pakistan as well as the entire region.
Sadiq urged the need for forging partnerships to fast-track progress on meeting sustainable development goals and promotes genuine human development at all levels of the society.
Chairman Foreign Relation Committee of China Wang Xiaochu stated that Pakistan had an unrivalled importance in China’s strategic calculations and added that the leadership of both countries had demonstrated an unflinching resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations.
He reiterated that a vibrant Pak-China cooperation is central for tackling challenges in the region and beyond.
Wang Xiaochu highlighted that China is highly committed to assist Pakistan in genuine economic development.
He remarked that China will continue to support Pakistan in technology, infrastructure development and exploration of renewable energy resources.
