Bank robber held
The Sindh police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Friday claimed to have arrested a man they say was involved in two different bank robberies in the city.
As per a statement, a team of the SIU raided a house near Teen Hatti, Jamshed Quarters and arrested Adnan Shamsi alias Garam son of Akram Pervaiz. The police claimed to have recovered one TT pistol and bullets from his possession.
Officials said Shamsi had robbed a private bank in Korangi in 2016 and was wanted in FIR No 132/2016 registered under Section 395 of the Pakistan penal Code (PPC) at Korangi police station.
They added that Shamsi had also robbed a private bank’s branch in the jurisdiction of the Awami Colony police in 2016 and was wanted in FIR No 10/2016 registered under Section 395/337 of PPC.
