Rawalpindi to get reconciliation cell: LHC CJ

 Justice Mansoor says step aimed at reducing petty cases’ number; bench
will reserve days for cases from Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has said a reconciliation cell (ADR) will be established for the LHC Rawalpindi bench soon.

Talking to the Executive Body of the High Court Bar Rawalpindi (HCBR), which called on him under the leadership of HCBR President Zafar Mahmood Mughal here on Tuesday, the LHC CJ said the reconciliation cell would help reduce frivolous cases and relieve the courts. The Rawalpindi bench would reserve days for hearing cases from Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal to facilitate lawyers and petitioners.

The CJ said waiting rooms would also be set up for the petitioners, where potable water would be available. He said there would be no compromise on the foolproof security of courts. He also announced provision of books, computers and printers for the HCBR library. 

The delegation apprised the CJ of lawyers’ problems and presented various proposals to improve relations between the bench and the bar.  The delegation comprised Malik Sajjad Haider Shah, Nawaz Noon, Bilal Raza, Bilal Mughal, Saira Khatoon, Faiza Kayani, Shazia Kayani, Azmat Sheikh, Shahid Malik and Ahmed Hussain Shah.
