Additional secretary gets justice from IHC
ISLAMABAD: After years of litigation, Additional Secretary National Security Division Khushdil Khan Malik has at last got relief from the Islamabad High Court in his promotion case.
Malik had filed a case against the Establishment Division and Ministry of Defense. In an 8-page judgment, a copy of which is also available with The News, Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi has directed the Establishment Division and Ministry of Defense to notify the grant of time scale to the petitioner in Basic Pay Scale 21 with effect from 1-1-2011 as approved by the prime minister in his favor on 15-10-2015.
Malik was originally an ex-cadre officer of Defense Division. However, he is currently serving in the National Security Division against the post of additional secretary. He has formerly served in the Interior Division as joint secretary, Director General National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and as deputy secretary in different ministries.
The judgment also pointed out the mala fide intention of certain officers of defense ministry. The court also ordered Establishment Division and Defense Ministry not to take any adverse action against the petitioner in any manner.
