Tenants’ data being collected on international criterion to cope with terrorism

Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said they have adopted such a criterion to collect profile data of tenants of the rental houses that is already in practice in the developed countries to cope with the increasing threats of terrorism.

"The newly designed forms to collect data of tenants are no different from those being used in the European countries and the United States. We are going through hard times so these kinds of steps are necessary to ensure peace and tranquillity prevail everywhere in the country," he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Home Department has directed all 306 police stations in the province to collect profile data of tenants from their house owners on newly designed computerized forms that would be connected with an online database centre in Lahore as part of ongoing operation Radul Fasad to root out terrorism from the country.

He said all the previous forms submitted by the house owners after promulgation of Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Ordinance 2015 on 8th January 2015 are no more valid so they should again submit details about their tenants on computerised forms especially designed by the Punjab Ministry of Counter Terrorism.

To another question, he said all the house owners should fully follow the rules and submit details about their tenants at the earliest, adding "Non-submission of forms carrying details of tenants is an offence so everyone should keep it in mind and follow the rules."
