Islamabad
The teachers working in Islamabad’s government schools and colleges on daily wage basis have got another assurance from state minster for the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry about the early payment of salary withheld for four months.
During a meeting with the leaders of the Young Teachers Association, which represents such daily wagers totalling around 1,100, the CADD minister said the withheld salary would be paid in a week.
He said he would speak to the prime minister and request him for the approval of a supplementary budget for the immediate resolution of the matter.
The CADD regulates the ICT educational institutions through the Federal Directorate of Education.
The daily-wage teachers had boycotted duty and staged rallies to claim the withheld salary and service regularisation in the recent months, and even got assurances from the CADD minister for doing the needful, but to no avail.
