Red warrants for Baloch separatist leaders issued
ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has approved the Balochistan government’s request to issue red warrants for two self-exiled Baloch separatist leaders — Brahamdagh Bugti and Sher Mohammad — living in Europe.
“The approval has been granted and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formally received directions from the Interior Ministry,” an official privy to the development confided to The News on Tuesday.
The Balochistan government had requested the FIA for getting red warrants for both the self-exiled leaders for their involvement in a number of cases of terrorism registered in different parts of the province.
Following the request of Balochistan home department along with copies of cases, warrants of anti-terrorist courts and declarations of absconder, the FIA approached the Interior Ministry for formal approval which was granted. The sources claim that the FIA was likely to approach the Interpol in next two working days for the arrest of the two leaders.
