Islamabad
First Lady Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain has called for educating youths on moral values, building their character and imparting quality education to them.
She was speaking to the students of Islamabad Model School Girls here at the Aiwan-i-Sadr on Tuesday. The first lady has started a series of lectures on the training of girls and their religious and worldly education where students of various schools are invited and informed about their duties so that they can play their role in development and prosperity of the country.
The first lady said that Islam as a comprehensive way of life encompassed a complete moral system which not only defines morality but also guides the human race in how to achieve it at both an individual as well as collective level.
"Islam stresses on promoting moral values and it enjoins upon Muslims to uphold moral principles of integrity, honesty, and decency. We can make our society ideal by following moral codes laid down by Islam," she said.
The First Lady said that one learned lessons of morality first from home and school like respecting the elders, helping the needy and being good to others and called upon parents and teachers to instil ethical values among children.
She urged students to base their lives on the ideals of moral and religious ethics and said such interaction was an excellent source of transmitting moral values among children which will make them good human beings and good Muslims.
The first lady advised the female students to understand their responsibilities and in this regard take guidance from their parents and elders, focus on their education and play such a role in their homes to nurture feelings of love and sincerity.
She further said that we will have to make our homeland a strong and great country but this will be possible only if our children and youth understand their responsibilities and live their life in the light of the teachings of Quran and Sunnah.
The first lady also answered the questions raised by students related to the subject. After her speech the First Lady mingled with the students. The students informed her about their curricular activities.
