Pakistan to meet Iran in baseball final
KARACHI: Pakistan set semi-final date with Iran when they demolished Iraq 25-0 in their Group A second round match of the West Asia Baseball Cup on Monday at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.
The pre-final will be held on Tuesday (today). In the other semi-final, Sri Lanka face Nepal.
The final will be held on Wednesday (tomorrow).
Pakistan-Iraq clash, as expected, was one-sided with the hosts and defending champions keeping control over the proceedings.
Pakistani batters and pitchers did a fine job.
Pakistan had beaten Nepal in their opener also with comprehensive margin.
Arsalan Jamshed and Faqir Hussain scored four runs each for the victorious side.
Sumair Zawar, Riaz Khan and Amin Afridi scored three runs each. Umair Bhatti, Riaz Khan and Majeed contributed two runs each.
