ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has refuted the National Panthers Party chief Prof Bhim Singh’s claim about his meeting with APHC chief Syed Ali Geelani, terming the statement untrue.
According to KMS, APHC spokesman Ayaz Akbar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Bhim Singh during his visit to APHC office at Hyderpora expressed his desire to meet Geelani, but he was informed that doctors had advised restriction on meetings with the octogenarian leader in view of his health conditions.
Bhim Singh stayed for 45 minutes and during this time he interacted with responsible office-bearers, the spokesman added. Meanwhile, the spokesman condemned the use of force against peaceful protesters at Press Colony in Srinagar, saying “even the women participants were subjected to harsh treatment and humiliation”.
The police arrested many leaders and humiliated women participants. “It is highly deplorable that APHC leader Zamrooda Habib was manhandled by police officers,” he added.
