Says enemy conspiring to spread unrest; urges unity to foil its designs

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered speeding up operation against terrorists and their facilitators.

Presiding over a meeting here to review law and order situation in the province, he said the enemy was conspiring to spread unrest in the country and the nation would have to get united to foil its evil designs.

He said the current extraordinary situation demands extraordinary measures and the law-enforcement agencies would have to work with more determination for protection of life and property of the people.

Shahbaz said action against terrorists and their facilitators should be taken at every place indiscriminately. He the Afghan localities should be thoroughly checked and a vigilant eye should be kept on suspicious persons.

A report on Defence incident was also presented to the CM, stating that the incident took place due to cylinder blast.

However, nothing was said about the security and safety measures for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final match in Lahore, which is scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on March 5.

Another meeting in Lahore reviewed in detail holding of the T20 final in the provincial capital, with participants presenting recommendations pertaining to the match security, reported Geo.

They pondered over taking Army's help, besides Rangers and police, for the mega event.  Reports said a decision in this regard is likely to be announced in a day or so.
