Justice delayed

The justice system of a country should dispense speedy justice to criminals so that criminal activities can be reduced. Unfortunately in our society, the justice system is weak. Delayed trials, on one pretext or the other, coupled with delayed punishments are not playing any role to curb the country’s crime rate. This is why the crime, in all its forms and manifestations, is rampant in this country.

The need of the hour is to develop guidelines to assist the trial court in meting out just punishments to the accused after he is held guilty of the charges.
