Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) in collaboration with Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) will arrange a one-day exhibition of its pottery products during the next month.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh with Vice-Chancellor of the LCWU Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar on the occasion of inauguration of Display Corner of Tevta ceramic products at Lahore College for Women University.  Members of Tevta Ceramic Board Nabila Intisar, Zafar Mehmood, Tevta officers Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Mian Amjad Shujja, Sarfraz Anwar, LCWU faculty, including Dr Riffat Dar, Mrs Saeed Khalid and other officers of both organisations were also present.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said the display of Tevta ceramic products at LCWU would promote the sector.  The opening of the Corner is the continuity of the efforts of Tevta and the university for the promotion of the sector for which both organisations had already signed an MoU in August, 2016.

Through the venture, Tevta will have a great opportunity to introduce the skills of its students and master craftsmen at a public forum.  He said Tevta products were crafted by the students of Tevta under the supervision of the master craftsmen at the institute.

The Tevta chairperson said, "we are working passionately to adopt innovative designs in the area with the assistance of LCWU, Lahore." Tevta is also looking forward for establishing linkage with renowned outlets on the same pattern in the near future.

He said Tevta was upgrading its ceramics institute as per modern industrial requirement.  It would be a great source of facilitation to the industry concerned.  People from different walks of life, including representatives of industry attended the inaugural ceremony and appreciated the efforts of Tevta and LCWU for promotion of the ceramics sector.
