A training workshop was organised by the Comsats Institute of Information and Technology Islamabad to provide background information on the GIS-based platform here.
The purpose of the workshop was mapping and modeling geogenic groundwater contamination followed by practical training.
Moreover, the idea was to disseminate valuable information on technological advancement in the field of water resources and geological contamination to the masses.
Among the panel of the workshop were, Dr. Joel Podgorksi from Eawag (Switzerland), members of different water research-related organisations and scholars from different universities across Pakistan.
The session started with lectures by Prof. Dr Joel Podgorski from Eawag, Swiss on Geogenic contamination in the ground water of Pakistan and remarks by Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, T.I. In-charge Campus (CIIT Islamabad/Dean of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation).
