Three ‘robbers’ gunned down by police in Quaidabad

Another suspected robber lynched by citizens in Korangi No 4

Three robbers were killed in a shootout with police in Quaidabad and another was lynched by a mob in Korangi No 4 on Tuesday.

Police said they were informed about three robbers looting a citizen at Lalabad Road, Quaidabad. Policemen patrolling the area in a van rushed to the scene. The robbers fled and the police chased them down in Sherpao Colony. In an exchange of fire, the robbers were injured and they later expired at the Jinnah Hospital.

They were found in possession of three TT pistols, snatched cell phones and Rs15,000.

The identity of the robbers is yet to be ascertained.

‘Robber’ lynched

Citizens foiled a robbery in Korangi No 4 and lynched a suspected robber. Zaman Town police said robbers barged into a milk shop on Ghaus Pak Road, Korangi No 4. The owner of shop, Faizan, tried to resist following the robbers opened fire on him, leaving him injured and tried to escape.

Passers-by managed to apprehend one of the feeling robbers and started beating him. They also used an iron rod, killing the robber. The police reached the scene and shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital.
