Kaira for activating NACTA to end terrorism

BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan People’s Party central Punjab president and former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the rulers have failed to control terrorism incidents in the country.

He was addressing the PPP workers and newsmen at the residence of PPP leader Shaukat Mehmood Basra at Haroonabad on Tuesday.

He urged the government to fully implement the National Action Plan and activate the NACTA to end terrorism from the country. He said that Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had demanded implementing the NAP in its true sense as it was the nation’s demand too. Welcoming the Rangers operation in the Punjab, Kaira said that the Pakistan People’s Party had also been demanding the same in the province. He said that the law and order situation was deteriorating in the country. Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan People’s Party south Punjab president and former governor Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood said that the party leadership and its workers were fighting for the supremacy of law in the country. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party was with the forces, which were combating against terrorism. He warned the rulers and the district administration to immediately arrest the killers of PPP worker Imtiaz Haider, secretary of Shaukat Basra, otherwise the Pakistan People’s Party would launch a countrywide protest movement.

The Pakistan People’s Party workers gave a rousing welcome to the party leadership on their arrival in Haroonabad. Earlier, the Pakistan People’s Party leaders along with Nadeem Afzal Chan, Natasha Daultana and others visited the residence of the late PPP worker Imtiaz Haider and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

They also handed over a cheque of Rs 1 million to the bereaved family on behalf of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. They also announced a piece of land and bearing Imtiaz Haider’s children expenditures.

Later, the Pakistan People’s Party Punjab leadership visited Bahawalnagar City and condoled the death of seven people, including six of a family, who were killed in a blast due to gas leakage on February 14.
