Most Lahore schools to remain open on Saturdays

LAHORE: A number of leading private institutions of the provincial metropolis have adopted strict security measures, including placing snipers at rooftop of their campuses.
Many private schools have also cancelled Saturday as weekly holiday in order to cover academic loss their students faced in the wake of extended winter vacation. Meanwhile, a high-level meeting to review security arrangements at Punjab University was held on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said there was no need to be afraid of terrorists as life and death was in the hands of Allah, adding that we need to remain vigilant and alert. The heads of all teaching and administrative departments attended the meeting to review security arrangements. The meeting observed that we were aware of terrorists and their supporters and the misguided people must repent and turn away from their sins.
In the meeting, Resident Officer-I Prof Dr Sajid Rashid gave a detailed briefing on the security measures taken by the administration in the wake of current scenario.
