‘Benazir Bhutto struggled for people’s rights’
Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar and Minister Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla have said that the slain chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Benazir Bhutto, was an advocate of peace both within and outside Pakistan and for achieving this lofty goal she sacrificed her life fighting against the norms that challenged her vision.
In a statements issued here on Monday, the ministers said that Bhutto struggled for the people of her country, for their emancipation, their rights and for their progress as well.
“No doubt the tyrants imprisoned her, exiled her and finally martyred her, but they couldn’t harm the idea she stood for, the idea of a peaceful country, the idea of a democratic country where the children can grow without any fear, without any prejudice and intolerance,” they added.
They said that she would remain alive not only in the hearts of the PPP workers but also all the people of Pakistan.
Dahar and Chawla were of the opinion that Benazir Bhutto was a leader of international caliber and she stood against extremism and terrorism and “today we are united and committed too under the leadership of Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to fulfill her dreams”.
