Better Pak-Turkish educational ties stressed

Pakistan and Turkey have friendly and brotherly relations and better cooperation between them in different fields, especially education, will benefit Muslim Ummah and humanity as well.

This was stated by President Mamnoon Hussain during a meeting with head of the Presidency of the Religious Affairs of Turkey Dr. Mehmet Gormez, who called on him at the Aiwan-i-Sadr here on Saturday with along with a delegation.

Religious affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf and Turkish ambassador Sadik Babur Girgin were also present in the meeting. The president said regular exchange of delegations between the two countries will further cement bilateral relations.

He appreciated the idea of establishment of Imam-Hatip school system in Pakistan and called for establishing linkages between educational and academic institutions of the two countries. "There is a need for further broadening collaboration in the field of education between Pakistan and Turkey. Exchange of delegation of students between the two countries can play an important role in this regard," he said.

The president said measures were being taken to integrate religious education with modern and contemporary education in Pakistan. Dr. Mehmet Gormez told the president that Pakistan and Turkey enjoyed strong bonds of friendship.
