Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to launch joint ventures for the promotion of library sector to revive book reading among people, especially students.
The agreement came during a meeting between Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Hunardost and National Library Chairman Syed Ghayur Hussain. The ambassador visited different sections of the library and expressed keen interest in some sections.
He and the National Library chairman agreed to have an agreement on cooperation in cultural and knowledge-sharing sectors. The ambassador proposed creation of an Iran-specific section in the library to enlighten Pakistanis about Iranian culture and knowledge. The National Library chairman welcomed the proposal and promised his all-out cooperation in this regard.
