Philander signs for Sussex

LONDON: South African all-rounder Vernon Philander committed himself on Friday to playing the first half of the 2017 season for Sussex in a major coup for the County Championship second division outfit.
The 31-year-old will be available for Sussex’s first six County Championship matches and the group stage of the One-Day Cup tournament.
Philander has played county cricket in England on four previous occasions, for Middlesex in 2008, Somerset in 2012, Kent in 2013 and Nottinghamshire in 2015.
