The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan observed on Friday the death anniversary of the party founder Altaf Hussain’s brother and nephew, who were murdered in 1995.
A large number of MQM-P leaders, activists and slain party members’ families including the mother of Dr Imran Farooq gathered at party’s office in PIB Colony, its information in-charge Amin-ul-Haque told The News.
Dr Sattar, while speaking on the occasion, stated that the MQM-P’s mandate could not be snatched away and citizens had shown their allegiance to the party by participating in the event.
He added that the MQM was registered in his name and there were no two opinions as to which party was a political entity in Karachi.
“It should be clear now that there is only one MQM and that belongs to us.”
A senior journalist requesting anonymity told The News that the people who had attended the MQM-London rally were also present at the MQM-Pakistan’s event proving that there were no two MQMs, but only a strategy for those who were by force trying to divide the party.
