Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said the provincial apex committee had taken most important decisions and, as a result, peace had returned to Karachi and sectarian harmony could be seen all over the province.

He was talking to the outgoing corps commander of Karachi, Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar, who met him at the CM House on Thursday.

The meeting between the top civilian and military authorities of the province took place a day after the ISPR announced that Lt. General Shahid Baig Mirza would be the next corps commander of Karachi.

The CM thanked Lt. General Mukhtar for his valuable input in the apex committee meetings as well as for supporting the government and the police and equipping them with latest gadgets and army training.

“It was our collective wisdom, efforts and strong strategy that the Sindh government successfully defeated terrorists, extortionists, target killers operating in Karachi,” he said.

Lt. General Mukhtar said the government was performing well under the active leadership of the chief minister.

“This is very good that you are giving special attention to the development of the city,” he said.
