ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabian to envoy to Pakistan on Wednesday called on the Pakistani businessmen to improve the quality of their products to increase the trade volume between the two brotherly countries.
“We want to take bilateral trade to the next level, but for that, Pakistan needs to work on the standard of its goods,” Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Abdullah Marzouq Al Zahrani, told a group of Pakistani businessmen here.
He said this while talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by senior vice president of the chamber Khalid Malik. “Saudi investors were interested in investment and joint ventures in various sectors of Pakistan s economy.”
During the meeting, Al Zahrani identified steel manufacturing and food processing as potential areas for joint ventures between the two countries. “It is imperative that both countries organize trade exhibitions and encourage frequent exchange of business delegations to explore all the untapped areas of mutual collaboration,” said he.
The Saudi envoy assured the businessmen that his embassy would facilitate Pakistani business community in scouting business opportunities in his country. The ICCI delegation and Saudi ambassador thoroughly hashed out ways and means for strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries.
