Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Ch. Nisar Ali Khan will inaugurate the ‘Citizen Facilitation Centre’, in District Administration Complex, Islamabad, a spokesman of the district administration said.
The concept gets materialised, after months of consistent and focused efforts of the district administration, Islamabad, on the personal interest and the directions of the minister for interior. The foremost objective of this facilitation centre would be to ensure One Window Operations, of all civic services, as being provided by district administration. Although being visualised to create a commendable impact for a smooth and hassle free provision of services to the citizens of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the project has only cost, under three hundred thousand rupees. The centre is visualised, as major and unique stride towards service delivery and public facilitation.
These services includes issuance of domicile certificates, issuance of international driving permit, services related to arms licenses, No Objection Certificate (NOC) for CNG/ petrol pumps, declarations for newspapers/printing press or news agencies, issuance of non-encumbrance certificate and verification of registered documents.
In order to facilitate the citizens further, a specialised website is also being launched. The website will provide detailed information about all sorts of services. Besides having the facility to download the relevant application forms directly. This will prove to be more time and cost effective for the citizens. Soon, the project will be followed by similar facilitation centre at F-8 Markaz, Islamabad.
Another milestone to be achieved by ICT administration is the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Chief Commissioner ICT and Chairman Nadra, to initiate multi-security chip-based vehicle registration cards. The initiative is unprecedented due to its latest concept. All the vehicles registration books would be replaced by chip-based registration cards, which would not only enhance its portability, but will also contain all the particulars about vehicle and its owner. The project would be implemented in next two months.
This is worth mentioning here that the authorities of the previous administration planned to set up the ‘Citizen Facilitation Centre’ and finalised its initial set up, however, the incumbent administration announced the setting up of the facilitation centre.
