LAHORE

Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chairman Mustafa Kamal has said the progress in Lahore is a positive sign but this is the duty of the elected local governments representatives, not the chief minister to inaugurate development projects.

Talking to reporters after visiting shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri also know as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) in Lahore, Mustafa Kamal, former district nazim of Karachi and a dissident of Muttehida Qaumi Movement, said he was happy to see the development work in Lahore. However, he said it was the duty of the elected local governments representatives, chairmen to carry out development work which is also the pattern in the entire world. He said in the entire world, prime minister or chief ministers don’t inaugurate flyovers, roads or look after sanitation of streets but it was elected LG representatives who perform this job.

Mustafa Kamal on the occasion said that PSP had been mobilised in all areas and we would move to every nook and corner of the country to spread our message. He also said that PSP was even ready to work with those parties in national interest with whom it had ideological differences, adding we wanted democracy, not only in the parliament corridors but to the street and at grassroots level.

To a question, he said Rehman Bhola Bhala, an activist, arrested by Interpol, had no link with PSP and fair probe would bring forth fact.
