Law of conversion
The Sindh Assembly has passed a historic and remarkable law against forced conversion. This is a great bid to protect minorities across the Sindh province. Religious minorities used to complain that actions taken by the government to stem the problem were inadequate. Several human rights groups also highlighted the increased phenomenon of Hindu girls, particularly in Sindh, being kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam. Indeed, the new bill will end the plight of minority Hindu; who will now feel more secure.
Forced conversion is an inhumane and abhorrent practice. Still, it had long been an issue in Pakistan which largely affected the impoverished Hindus. The new law is a ray of hope for non-Muslim communities of the country and will put a stop to injustice against the minorities.
