Proceedings against Punjab headmasters over dropouts begin

LAHORE: School Education Department (SED), Punjab, has started disciplinary proceedings against 99 senior headmasters and principals of government schools under PEEDA Act 2016 for 50 percent and above dropout of students enrolled in class nine who could not appear in the board examinations.

According to a notification, the Punjab chief minister has approved initiation of disciplinary proceedings under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006 against the concerned.

The headmasters have been directed to submit their written defence to the inquiry officer, additional DPI, Elementary Education, Punjab, who would submit his report to the schools secretary within 60 days of the initiation of the inquiry.
