Mansehra Tehsil Council demands market price for CPEC lands
MANSEHRA: The Tehsil Council in Mansehra has approved a unanimous resolution seeking market price for the land being acquired for projects under the multibillion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
“The government’s price of land being acquired for projects under CPEC is unacceptable to landowners and it should review prices in accordance with the market rates,” said a resolution moved by Arab Khan in the council and was unanimously passed.
The meeting of the council was held, with its convener Mohsan Ali Waqar in the chair, and several resolutions were passed.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadar Khan proposed shifting of passenger coaches from the existing main passenger buses’ terminal to Pano Dari to end traffic rush at the Karakoram Highway. He also demanded the tehsil government to construct waiting rooms, lavatories and parking lot at the main passenger bus terminals.
The council sought supply of natural gas and water to areas, which were still deprived of it.Speaking on the occasion, Asad Ali Shah raised the issue of corruption in the Tehsil Municipal Administration and said that though the tehsil nazim was striving to end kickbacks and commissions, much more needed to be done.
Tehsil Nazim Khurram Khan Swati said that if councillor comes with solid evidence of corruption against any staff member of TMA, he would take a strict action.
