‘CPEC to become strong economic block’

OKARA: PML-N leader and patron-in-chief of Okara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad Iqbal Wednesday said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would become a powerful economic bloc in the region.
Talking to reporters, he said with the passage of time allcentral Asian states including Russia and Iran would use this trading route.
He said even Turkey can get benefits from the CPEC in expanding its trade with South-East Asian and Far East countries.
The PML-N leader said India was not bearing the CPEC project.
He said the CPEC linkage with Central Asian States and Russia would also help ending war, bloodshed and terrorism in Afghanistan.
Iqbal lauded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for initiating the CPEC project to make Pakistan an economic hub.
