CM vows comprehensive security cover for Regi Lalma Model Town
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed replication of the Safe Hayatabad Project for the Regi Lalma Township.
He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting at Chief Minister’s House and talking to a 10-member delegation of Regi Lalma Township led by Khalid Masood, said an official handout.
Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan and secretary Local Government, district council member Hashim Khattak and others were also present. The government would arrange a complete security cover to Regi Lalma Model Town to pave the way for accelerating the construction and commercial activities in the town.
The chief minister said that Regi Lalma Model Town needed a comprehensive security cover and the government was seriously working on it. “The government wants the construction and commercial activities in the town,” he added.
The chief minister called upon the officials to put on the ground the construction work on the public-sector infrastructure for all social services in the town.Pervez Khattak directed to prepare new bi-laws for both Hayatabad Township and Regi Model Town in the light of the recommendations of all the stakeholders.
He directed accelerated approach roads construction. The commercial properties, he added, should be disposed of through open auction. However, the commercial activities should be started soon there and the structure for these commercial activities should be completed within one year that included school, health related buildings and other commercial activities, he directed.
Pervez Khattak came hard on the illegal allotment of plots previously and added that action should be initiated in this regard. The chief minister said his government was looking forward to declare and develop certain zones in parts of the Peshawar city on commercial lines. These zones would be allocated to commercial activities, he added.
Pervez Khattak directed development of all parts in Regi Lalma Town as per standard set by the government. He directed immediately completion of the intra city roads, for which an allocation of 2.5 billion rupees had been made.
The chief minister directed finalization of the the incoming and out-coming roads from Peshawar city. He called for completing the plantation, greenery and other beautification works, hoping these activities would change the outlook of Peshawar city.
Pervez Khattak directed the minister and secretary of Local Government to regularly visit Regi Lalma Town and monitor the work there. He reminded that he had already directed fixing of beautiful grills on both sides of the two main canals passing through Peshawar city.
