ICST backs CPEC project
Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders (ICST) on said no country including India can derail fate-changing project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Government and army have successfully insulated CPEC from tensions with India and foiled many conspiracies to damage it, said Patron of Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders Shahid Rasheed Butt.
He said that CPEC should be kept safe from all problems while enhanced participation of the local industry in the project should be ensured for expansion in the industrial base.
Shahid Rasheed Butt said that it is difficult to count the benefits of the economic corridor and no country should be allowed to disturb the pace of development.
He said that cement, steel and financial sectors are set to get benefit from the project but other sectors should also be involved while heavy investment should be made in the financial sector.
Economic corridor can benefit hundreds of industries of the country which can result in industrial expansion, revenue generation and matchless employment opportunities, he added.
He added that unmatched demand of things like cement, steel and other building material will not only allow full utilization of the existing manufacturing potential, but will also encourage many manufacturers to increase their production capacity which will be in the national interest.
The project is set to generate at least seven hundred thousand jobs while boost GDP by 2 to 2.5 per cent therefore it should get preference over all other issues, he demanded.
The project will transform Pakistan into a regional market unveiling uncountable opportunities.
