Man tortures wife over dowry issue

GUJRANWALA: A man allegedly tortured his wife over a dowry issue at Madina Colony.
Asif allegedly tortured his wife Ulfat, 22, for bringing less dowry. Meanwhile, the victim reached the DHQ Hospital for obtaining medico-legal certificate. Talking to newsmen at the hospital, Ulfat alleged that her husband Asif used to quarrel with her for bringing less dowry.
UC RESERVED SEATS: Polling for reserved seats of 667 union councils throughout the division will be held today.
The ECP has completed its arrangements and set up 238 polling stations. Total 5,336 voters, including UC chairmen and vice-chairmen, will cast their votes. Polling will begin at 9am and continue till 4pm.
SIX HELD: The FIA arrested six agents and recovered four Pakistani passports, tokens and challan forms from them.
The FIA teams raided passport offices in Gujrat and Narowal and arrested six agents Yousaf, Zaheer, Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Shah, Kashif and Ghulam Murtaza. They also recovered four passports, tokens and challan forms from them. Separate cases have been registered against the accused persons.
