GUJRANWALA: An accused involved in robbery and murder cases was killed when his accomplices opened fire on a police party in a bid to get him released near Rajkot on Tuesday.
Dhulley police were returning after taking the custody of accused Abdul Jabbar from the Central Jail for interrogating him in another dacoity case when his four accomplices allegedly opened fire in a bid to get him released. However, bullets hit accused Abdul Jabbar, killing him on the spot while all police officials remained unhurt. Rescue 1122 staffers shifted the body to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
THREE REMANDED: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Khalid Sharif on Tuesday granted the Counter Terrorism Department seven-day physical remand of three alleged terrorists.
The CTD produced the alleged terrorists Ali Raza, Atif and Jawad before the judge and sought their 14-day physical remand. The court, however, granted their seven-day remand.
